It’s been a minute since I’ve really written a proper reflection on here. I keep a journal where I jot notes down. I do try to make sure at least for posterity that they all eventually make it on to here, so that they give the tribe at least a chance to chew on some thought and help grow your mind.
“I do the shrooms, so you don’t have to” (lol)
Are you living?
I think a lot of our self-esteem, and our belief in ourselves often falls short because we haven’t made a resume of doing activities that prove our ability to overcome. If you are faced with a tough situation and you don’t have a reservoir of tough times to tap back into to compare to the current tough time you are going through, you will lack confidence.
It goes hand in hand with what I often write about taking on more responsibility. The more that depend on you, the more purpose you end up feeling and that ultimately translates to happiness and satisfaction about a successful life.
But, for many, you may not be there yet. You may have never started. You could be in your 20’s and still on your way and are working towards it. You could be in your 50’s and just lost your way but are looking for it now.
The great thing about purpose, it can be acquired easily. In fact, acquiring purpose will be one of the most fun journey’s you can undertake, because it makes your life incredibly colorful.
Once you start completing your resume, you’ll notice all of a sudden you have a lot more to say that actually means something. You’ll be a lot more sturdy in what you want. You will be a warrior-monk on a mission transcending the trap and weight of life. People will look to you and see you as something larger than life. If someone was to jot down everything you’ve done - they would go it was fascinating, it was intricate. They struggled at times, but they accomplished so much.
The great news about it is to acquire your resume in purpose, it costs next to nothing. It does not require a 100k dollar degree. It does not require you to be Einstein. You do not need any special gifts or talents. You just have to want to have purpose.
The other great thing, even if you just have 1 or 2 things on your resume, you will see how transformative it is. Knock off 1 thing, and over time it will become 25 things. You just need to start.
I’ve compiled some lists that I think are resume builders for a full and purposeful life. It’s far incomplete, and I’ll come back over time and add to it. I won’t say much more for it.
