Forward
Ayo, 3 shortened weeks in a row for markets, and its all on dumb reasons. I know many traders want to kick things into gear, I do especially. But I think now is a time for patience and to not blow your wad in the first couple weeks of the year.
Knowing when to strike and how is one of the most critical things you can do in a market. It often defines your success.
Anyways without further ado, lets get into it.
Subscription Discounts
If you aren’t already taking advantage of the student discount I really encourage students to do it. I want education to be accessible and for my stack to be less than your Netflix Subscription.
Student Special:
Thank you, deeply and truly, for supporting this stack and this community. We’ve been on a long journey with many great adventures, and I hope this stack has helped you grow not only as a trader, but as a person. That you have found some meaning in life and learned a little more along the way.
I also take serious pride in this being an affordable educational site. I am adding a veteran discount on top of adding student discounts to subscriptions.

VETERAN DISCOUNTS FOR WIZ SUBSTACK (need a vmail.vet address)
If you enjoy the stack, make sure to like this post, restack, retweet, subscribe to the tribe. It goes a long way and I think 95% of those that upgrade will say they’ve seen their trading improve incredibly. But enough of the biz, let’s get down to wiz.
Reflection
In honor of Jimmy Carter’s Funeral today, here is a small summary on his presidency. While I think that he did do a lot of damage to the United States’ position and made a lot of critical policy mistakes especially in Healthcare, I still have respect for him holding the Office of the President.
Jimmy Carter's presidency (1977-1981) was marked by a focus on human rights and a commitment to addressing domestic challenges.
Key Accomplishments:
Camp David Accords: Brokered a historic peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.
Panama Canal Treaty: Negotiated the return of the Panama Canal to Panama.
Creation of the Department of Education: Expanded federal involvement in education policy.
Challenges:
Economic Stagnation: Faced high inflation and unemployment ("stagflation").
Energy Crisis: Dealt with the 1979 energy crisis, leading to fuel shortages and long lines at gas stations.
Iranian Hostage Crisis: 52 American diplomats were held hostage in Iran for 444 days, significantly damaging his presidency.
Limited Legislative Success: Faced difficulties in Congress, leading to many of his legislative initiatives being unsuccessful.
Overall:
Carter's presidency is often viewed as a period of both significant achievements and significant challenges. While he made strides in foreign policy and human rights, he struggled to address economic woes and faced a series of crises that ultimately contributed to his defeat in the 1980 election.
