Reflection

Gardening is the quiet teacher of patience. It takes time for seeds to germinate, plants to grow, and fruits and vegetables to ripen. There will be setbacks along the way, such as pests, diseases, and bad weather. But if you are patient and persistent, you will eventually be rewarded with a bountiful harvest.

Chinese philosopher Confucius once said, "The man who plants a tree, plants a hope." This quote should remind us that gardening is ultimately an act of hope. When we plant a seed, we are planting a seed of hope that the future will be something more than it is today. We are hoping that the seed will germinate and grow into a healthy plant, and that we will eventually be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Patience is also important in gardening because it teaches us to appreciate the journey, as I often talk to. Journeys. It is easy to get caught up in the end goal, such as harvesting a bumper crop. But if we are patient, we will also appreciate the small things along the way, such as the first signs of germination, the first flowers, and the first fruits. It’s sort of funny how these such small things are often the most rewarding.

Be like Tao, and flow with the present moment. Learn patience, gardening is a great mindset of our own lives, and to remind ourselves that we are as much a part of nature as anything. We can not exist outside of it and it is important to remember to be in harmony with the universe.
