Forward
Today, I cover both a reflection on Sun Tzu’s Art of War and how we let the day slip away from us, and also go over the interesting case of Rivian - RIVN. I will also be sending out a separate email later on the economic and ER events upcoming this week and what my outlook is after last week’s close. Hope everyone enjoys, and is enjoying the long weekend.
If you enjoy the stack, make sure to like this post, restack, retweet, subscribe to the tribe. It goes a long way and I think 95% of those that upgrade will say they’ve seen their trading improve incredibly. But enough of the biz, let’s get down to wiz.
Reflection
Strike like lightning, be swift and unhesitant in your actions. Know your plans and know thyself, and the enemy will be broken without delay.
It is the de facto book studied on war. Yet, many of us may think, I, myself, do not find myself at war today. I am not on a battlefield, nor do I seek a fight.
It is a wrong and incorrect fallacy to not realize that the war is not always literal. It is in winning each day and treating your life as if there is a war on, that others seek your downfall. To continue to plan and be ready for the days that will come when it is not peaceful and green. You must be ready.
Ready to overcome, ready to succeed in whatever obstacles you will face that day. Do you draw out a plan for yourself at the start of each day, or do you linger and let the day swallow you. Do you constantly find yourself at the end of each day not accomplishing what you set out to do, letting the day sweep you by?
Do your days and years pass and you find that your plans have not been followed?
If these questions are true, it is because you have not taken it to heart that you must plan and fight early each day. Control the day at the start so that it does not control you. Things will happen and not every day you will accomplish everything you set out to do, but if 90% of your days, if you write out 3 goals you wish to accomplish in the shower and you have not finished 2 out of 3 of them by noon, you are not managing your days. The days manage you.
You let your life be managed by others.
WHY??
IT IS YOUR LIFE. NO ONE ELSE’S.
THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO YOUR LIFE
Do you not care that you have been given this life and that you can do anything you wish with it? Start by writing down each morning early what 3 things you will do.
Start in the beginning small.
Today, I will read 1 article on something that interests me
Today, I will make sure I eat lunch and listen to something funny
Today, I will spend 2 minutes thanking myself and the universe for the life I’ve been given.
Then begin to build.
And before you know it, soon you will be doing bigger and bigger things. It is habit forming.
You have fallen into the habit of letting your life be run by others, maybe because it was easy. Maybe because you were unaware, or perhaps you never really wanted that.
Let me tell you, my days may not always be comforting, but at least I command them. I get sad because I chased a goal that in the end I failed at. But at least I chose the goal and not someone else. I took the responsibility and more times than not, I am in the pursuit of something I love, rather than what someone else loves.
Markets
A very interesting chart to start things off:
RIVIAN - RIVN - RIVN 0.00%↑
Why buy a Rivian?
Because it is the Bronco of American Electric. It is the most non-pansy electric out there, that actually has real original design to it.
It subtly presents electric as not a save the environment option, but as a better choice vs other cars.
That is what will ultimately be the gamechanger in my humble opinion. Because it is not the techy trend, it is not a cause, it is just cause it’s better that’s why I bought it.
It is no secret there are agendas being pushed upon us to move to electric, whether that move is actually sustainable or not, with the possibility of gas cars not being street legal in 2030… But for us who are out there that are weary of this, that go why the hell do I have to change for something that I’m not even sure about, with money I don’t have or want to spend. I honestly want to buy my Tacoma and sit on it for 20+ years, but I know I won’t be allowed to. They are pushing for a revolutionary shift in the car industry, and it is finally time we start trying to identify who will be some of the winners.
Just look at that interior:
Company Overview: Rivian is an American electric vehicle manufacturer and automotive technology company founded in 2009. The company is headquartered in Irvine, California, and has over 14,000 employees. Rivian's products include the R1T pickup truck, the R1S SUV, and the Rivian EDV delivery van. Rivian currently is set for removal from QQQ. On June 20, it will be removed from the Nasdaq-100 Index after spending two consecutive months with a weight of less than 0.1% in the index. What people don’t realize is that this is likely a non-event that will likely make it more talked about and traded. For me, it is following my rule of short-term spotlight with underlying fundamental to back up a run higher.
